Ramjet’s AZ Bike Week Pre-Rally Party

Let the games begin! Pre rally stuff starts here in Arizona around the middle of March. The first big Arizona Bike Week pre-rally party is called “Ramjet’s Customer Appreciation Day”. Traci and I hopped on the Dyna and headed up there, sunny, about 85, just a beautiful day in the Valley of the Sun. Ramjets is about a half mile south of Buddy Stubbs H-D, location of another Annual Pre Rally event that happens the following Friday; “Buddy Stubbs Bike Week Bash” always a great show there, this year they were giving away a Harley 48.

Ok… back to Ramjets… When we got to Ramjets, first thing we noticed when we pulled in was a ton of bikes! You could hear “Slik 50” the Swing band, and smell the burgers… you know the feeling…. ahhhhhhhh our people!…. All the locals know about Ramjet Racing that has been here in Phoenix for over 20 years and literally carries everything in stock to build a motorcycle from the ground up.

This year their 15th Annual Customer Appreciation event went all out with a BBQ cook out, vendors, live music, bike show and raffle. Ramjet’s bike and car shop was open for business with tons of in store specials. Bikers were able to have their bike serviced while they enjoyed the event.

Their People’s Choice Bike Show had categories for; Best Bagger, Sportster, Club Style, Vintage, Custom and Metric. Joe and Pam Brinn with their lil’ dog from Michigan won best of bagger for their Vietnam memorial bike. Our good friend Jeremie (Bacpac) won for the metric category with her Suzuki Marauder; which she customized herself with the help of Woody’s, her BF and Dance Partner, fabricating skills …She recently recovered from an MC accident where she was hospitalized and almost lost her leg. Hundreds from the biker community visited her in the hospital during her 3-month recovery. She’s a riding and dancing miracle!

We had a blast “cuttin’ the rug” with the other dancers as the Rock-a-Billy/Swing band played. We visited with ole friends and the various venders with the latest in bike parts (a builder’s paradise). Then the raffles… $15,000 in prizes… it seemed like everyone won something and some won more than once, except us. I wanted a really cool set of pipes but a sly 8-yr old boy snagged em…. If you want to track us March 29th: Check out the Antique Bike Show (Shriners Hall 40th street South of the 202) in the morning …
