ON THE COVER: Cover Art Design by Jason Cruz – www.jason-cruz.com for Chopperfest 2015.
“The art show and this cover is a Tribute to David Mann” say’s Tory DuVarney, Event Coordinator – David Mann Chopperfest. “We asked all our participating artists to create a tribute piece and Jason Cruz and a few others are the only ones that could make it happen. We will have all the tribute art on display at the Chopperfest Art Show” The other artist’s work can be seen in the complete article on page 7.
“Thank you so much for the opportunity to do this,” said Jason Cruz, “It’s something I’ve wanted to do my whole life. It was a strangely sad piece for me to create because my whole career didn’t start until after he passed. I really wish I had the opportunity to show him my work and for him to know how much he affected my life. Every time I sit down to draw anything bike related I think of his work. I also have his work hanging in my office. It was strange to put so much time and detail into drawing someone who I admired and respected so much. I’ve never even drawn anyone in my family! Guess I better start.”
The 12th Annual Chopper Fest will be held Sunday December 13th 2015 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds in Ventura, CA from 8am-4pm. Chopperfest is a tribute to the work of David Mann. David Mann was the Easyriders center spread artist from 1971 – 2003 and was inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame and the National Motorcycle Museum Hall of Fame in 2004.
