Northwest Harley-Davidson started the month of May off with a promotional bang! “The friendliest shop on the west coast” was filled to the brim with hundreds of anxious ticket holders who had entered NWHD’s 2008 Anniversary Edition Dyna Wide Glide Giveaway!
As the clock was counting down to the big announcement, it gave everyone time to catch up with one another over a cup of coffee and time to browse the dealership.
At exactly 1pm, Julio, NWHD’s General Manager, stepped up to the mic as Trish, a long time Motorclothes Associate extraordinaire spun the drum filled with hopeful tickets winners. 3 tickets would be drawn. The 2nd and 3rd place winners would be announced prior to the Grand Prize Winner. They would receive the 105th Anniversary Exclusive Dealer VIP Ticket Package, which includes VIP treatment on the Summerfest Grounds, tickets to the Harley-Davidson museum and other goodies.
The 3rd place winners name was called first. Congratulations Darcy Davidson Jr. 34, of Yelm, Wa.! Darcy currently owns and rides a 2003 H-D Night Train.
The 2nd place winner was Mike Searcy, a hilarious guy and a well known fixture at NWHD who rides a 2002 Road King. Both he and his wife, Linda, are active South Sound HOG members.
Now for the Grand Prize Winner! Which lucky person in the crowd would hear their name called? How would it actually feel to win a brand new Harley…? As soon as Julio announced “Mike Henderson, you’re the winner of a 2008 Anniversary Edition Dyna Wide” the crowd went wild with applause and handshakes as Mike made his way to the platform! It was truly a great moment witnessing Mike’s stunned yet jubilant reaction to winning! He was absolutely speechless, just grinning from ear to ear. It appeared to take awhile for reality to set in that he had just won a brand spanking new Harley-Davidson, courtesy of Northwest H-D.
Mike was entered into the drawing when he purchased his ‘08 Ultra Classic in February from Bike Sales Associate, Joe. Mike’s passion for riding Harley’s spans over 30 years. He is happily married to his wife of 14 years, Jill, and they have a 10 year old son Ryan. When he’s not on the clock as a Construction Superintendent I guarantee he’s out riding!
Whenever I’m at Northwest H-D it brings a smile to my face when I run in to old friends and riding buddies, but what I enjoy most is meeting new motorcycle enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds. Today was no exception. I met a very sweet but cool 8½ -year-old future Harley rider, Conner, who stood out amongst the hundreds of ‘big people’ in his bright orange Harley shirt. I also had the pleasure of meeting Karina Harris, a truly gracious and gorgeous lady rider who had just finished shopping in the Motorclothes Dept.
Northwest H-D carries a wide variety of products to suit the tastes of anyone who stops in. The Motorclothes Dept is one of the best I’ve seen. They have a diverse selection of merchandise, including the popular Sinful and Affliction clothing line, and this seasons must have photo chromatic (light adjusting) eyewear. The Parts Dept is available to answer questions ranging from replacement parts to customizing your stock bike. Jeremy, the Service Mgr, is well known for his department’s exceptional technicians and outstanding customer service and satisfaction.
Are you looking to buy a new bike, trade in or consign your old one? Just talk to any one of the friendly Sales Associates.
Do you enjoy the camaraderie of riding with a group? Then check out South Sound HOG. They are over 300 strong in members, enjoying day and overnight trips throughout the year. They assist with various NWHD activities, including monthly Demo Days and are active in numerous charity causes. Danny Willard, SSHOG Director proudly stated “The great thing about NWHD is their support and backing for their HOG group.”
Do you look forward to punching that time clock, getting on your bike and hanging with your buddies? On Thursdays, head over to NWHD’s Hot Summer Nights! Check out bikes and babes while drinking beverages, munching on great food while listening to live music. Saturdays are also in full swing with the live music beginning at 1pm and barbecue throughout the day.
