On Thursday Dec 12th, the Quick Throttle crew hopped a ferry headed for Seattle. We were looking forward to a fun evening in the city to celebrate the grand opening of Mt Rainier Harley-Davidson!

The party was actually being held at the Hard Rock Cafe Seattle which is located right next to Mt Rainier Harley-Davidson’s new location on the corner of 2nd and Pike Street.

As we walked along the streets of downtown Seattle heading towards the festivities the sidewalks were packed with people hustling and bustling.

When we reached the Hard Rock Cafe the first thing we noticed was a Mt Rainier H-D pop up tent and under it was the Harley Jumpstart (a motorcycle treadmill) with a cool looking Sportster on it. Anyone who wanted to experience what it would feel like and sound like to ride a Harley could simply hop on the bike and go for a stationary ride just outside the front doors of the Hard Rock Cafe.

Before we went inside the bar we wanted to go check out the new Mt Rainier Harley-Davidson store. This new location is in a prime downtown spot, it’s just 2 blocks away from the Pike Place Public Market. In addition to its close proximity to the Market and Hard Rock, it’s also within walking distance of the Seattle waterfront which draws millions of tourists each year who are looking to enjoy the ultimate Seattle experiences – taking in the view of Elliott Bay, checking out the huge variety of unique stores and award winning restaurants along with the Seattle Aquarium and the Great Wheel to name just a few.

Mt Rainier Harley-Davidson fits right in with its downtown neighbors that cater to tourists as well as local Washingtonians. The store’s walls boast an assortment of sharp looking Harley-Davidson Motorclothes, Collectibles and Accessories. Many of the items, such as t-shirts and shot glasses, sport the distinctive Mt Rainier H-D logo on them.

The Mt Rainier H-D store along with Eastside H-D and Emerald City H-D are all owned by Thompson Motorsports Group.

Julie Hart, the Mt Rainier H-D manager was eager to show us around the new store and point out several items that she thought we might like. Since it was raining I picked out a cool and practical Harley umbrella. No doubt I’ll get plenty of use out of it over the next couple of months.

IMG_1751aAfter shopping we headed back over to the Hard Rock Cafe and made our way upstairs to the party! I was immediately greeted by Sebastian Bularz, GM of Eastside H-D who was standing behind a table full of free swag.

The architectural design of the upstairs bar is striking and it was the perfect place to host the Mt Rainier H-D Grand Opening Party! Every table was taken with patrons who were kicked back, having fun and sipping on cocktails. On stage Ayron Jones and The Way (a band that many know and dig) mesmerized the crowd with their soulful rock tunes.

After spending a few hours socializing with the party patrons it was time to say our good byes and catch the ferry home. All in all it was a wonderful night!

*Mt Rainier H-D is located at 128 Pike Street. They’re open 7 days a week: Mon-Sat 10-6 & Sun 11-5.
