Great Lakes Dragaway

The end of the 2007 regular season is over at Great Lakes Dragaway but we continue to be open on weekendswith FUN RACING until the snow covers the track.

It was a great year filled with events 6 days a week from the start of the season back in April. Bike nights grew and we have plans for more action in 2008 as we expand the race classes to include Buells, Victory’s and a Import Class. At the end of each Bike Night we will have the winner of Harley/Buell and the winner of the Import class to race for a special “KING OF THE HILL” title and trophy!

We will again have bands & free pig roasts every Bike Night as Randy, Dave & Dom are now official PIG ROASTING KINGS. We will have a VIP sign up on our web site that everyone can sign up for to be included in special discounts and have the opportunity to be a part of the free pig. Your company can rent the track or just have your event at the track catered by our teams of food aficionados!

2007 rented the track to some big name companies who used it for testing their new line of 2008 models, taping of that can be seen on various television shows. The Time Machine Nationals was a huge success this year and will be even bigger in ’08 with some surprises! Halloween Havoc had 30 entries for it’s costume contest, a Broadway Bob look-a-like won, even Bob’s dogs followed him around he looked so much alike!

The Harley Shootout Rally went great even though Mother Nature rained all week up to the event causing power outages, flooding and a sink hole located off I-94 and KR…which caused a re-direct of traffic just to get to the rally! We want to thank Erik Buell & the Thunderbolts, Black Frog, Smokin’ Guns, The Cocksmiths, Charlie Bretchkel and Jimmy Van Zant who all played like never before to an appreciative crowd! And thanks to our 40 vendors who encompassed vendor Alley and Dave Cook who won the Pro-Class Bike Show. Heather Hernandez won the crown, cash & sash for the Miss Harley Shootout Bikini Contest and Jessica Tannebaun & Deserie D’Acquisto were runners up. You can see them in the 2009 Babes on Bikes Calendar which is due to be released in Spring 2008, just on time for all the events of Harley’s 105th Anniversary. Visit www.skyhighpromotions. com for events & updates. Our Harley/Buell Shootout rally dates for 2008 are August 23rd & 24th. Also new in 2008 we will be having Swap Meets! Dates: May 4th, June 15th, July 27th, Oct. 19th check out the web-site to participate or just come and get what you need!
