Colorado Cannon Run

Statewide Motorcycle Ride To Benefit Make- A-Wish Foundation, Hunter’s Dream For A Cure and the Muscular Dystrophy Association

Windsor, CO, April 16, 2008 — Already over 500 riders have joined in on the fun of the Cannon Run. This unique ride takes place over the course of six months and features over 77 well-known stops throughout Colorado.

Whereas this is the first year for the Cannon Run in Colorado, its sister ride has been taking place for over seven years in Wisconsin. Ride Organizer, Mark Stewart commented, “I love the Rocky Mountains and have been on many rides here in Colorado I thought it was time to show Colorado riders how unique and enjoyable the Cannon Run is. This is a first year for this ride but already the enthusiasm, support and participation has far exceeded my expectations so it is sure to be an annual tradition.”

The Cannon Run is different than most rides that traditionally take place over the course of one day. This ride started on February 2nd and will run through August 1st. Riders purchase a $25 booklet complete with a route map and entry card for each of the 77 stops. Riders can chose to visit all of the stops or as many as they wish. Each of the 77 stops will collect the entry card from the riders which will then be put into a drawing for over $50,000 worth of prizes.

Proceeds from the run will be disbursed to Colorado’s Make-A-Wish Foundation, Hunter’s Dream For A Cure and Muscular Dystrophy Association. Cannon Run organizers are passionate about the community in which they live. They wanted the ride to serve three purposes; fun for the riders, good for the Colorado economy and most importantly – to serve local non-profits.

“We have both traditional riders participating but we also have been surprised by the number of people purchasing booklets that don’t ride. Instead they are purchasing booklets to either participate in the drawings or to support the non-profits. It is a great way to see the great state of Colorado while helping others” commented Cannon Run promoter Ember Fortier.

This unique ride will conclude with an all day party on August 23, 2008 where all the drawings will take place. The more stops riders have made the more entries they will have in the drawings for the over $50,000 worth of prizes. Local representatives of each of the benefiting non-profits will also be at the party to demonstrate first-hand where the funds will be going.

The Cannon Run is locally owned and operated. It has been successful for over seven years in Wisconsin and promises to be a tradition in the Colorado market. Proceeds from the 2008 run will benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation based in Denver, Hunter’s Dream For A Cure based in Windsor, and Muscular Dystrophy Association based in Fort Collins.
