Biggest, Baddest Bike Fest Bash

California Harley-Davidson’s 40th Anniversary

Story by Koz Mraz, Photos by Juan El Mariachi

The festivities began on Saturday morning and rolled non-stop until Sunday the next night. California Harley-Davidson in Harbor City provided ample motorcycle parking right on PCH in front of the dealership. A large covered beer garden and massive stage was the focal point for the duration of the party. Adjacently placed was dozens of vendors with BBQ Express serving tasty tri-tip sandwiches all day long. With raffles throughout the day, 6 bands, a Miss CAHD pageant, a biggest Baddest Biker crowned and a custom CAHD Harley given away this was a nonstop celebration of 40 years and three generations of this family business.

Disco was the Master of Ceremonies both days and always keeping things lively. The crowd was entertained by the likes of The Thirsty Crows, Three Bad Jacks, Gamblers’ Mark, Big Rockin Daddy, and Woody and the Longboards.

An army of officials were on hand to congratulate CAHD’s Mark Ruffalo and present the dealership awards. Everyone from Mayor Eric Garcetti’s office, The 64th District Assembly, Ted Lieu , Member of Congress , California Assemblyman David Hadley, and the Harbor City Gateway Chamber of Commerce President, Johnathan Buetler.

The entire lower parking lot was jammed with vendors. Law Tigers, KLOS, and Homestreet Bank sponsored the event. Unknown Industries awed the crowd with their awesome Harley Wheelies. UNKNOWN Riders Buddy Suttle a.k.a. HarleyWheelies and Kade Gates a.k.a. DashAnDaddy were throwing down that day putting on a show for the crowd right alongside PCH. It was quite a crowd as the two stunt teams burned rubber right up to Pacific Coast Highway.

5 anxious winners held a key that could potentially fire up a gorgeous custom 40th Anniversary Harley-Davidson. And the winner is! Jeff Sybilrud from Rancho Palos Verdes. Every $250 spent at the dealership got you 1 ticket into the raffle.

Food and drink proceeds were donated to the Wounded Warrior Project and the Harbor City Boys and Girls Club.

California Harley-Davidson is an award winning, family owned and operated motorcycle dealership that has been recognized by the community as well as Harley-Davidson Motor Company for its commitment to its customers, community service projects, and longevity. Since its inception 40 years ago, California Harley-Davidson has been a recognizable landmark on the southern stretch of Pacific Coast Highway and a popular destination for both locals and tourists alike. I can wait for their 50th!
