Northwest Harley-Davidson’s Big, Bad Bike Show

As I was taking the 111 exit just off of I-5 which runs parallel to the dealership, I looked over at the parking lot and saw that it was jam packed with people and bikes! I knew immediately that it was going to be a great day!
The day before the show the temperature had been in the mid 90’s but the forecast for Saturday called for mild temps and thunderstorms. But as we all know, the weatherman is often wrong and today was no exception! It turned out to be perfect weather for an outdoor bike show – cloudy with sunbreaks and temps in the low 70’s.
I walked around the parking lot where the bike show was meticulously staged. There were 9 bike categories: Dyna, Touring, Softail, Custom, Metric, Sportster, Antique/Classic, Trike & V-Rod plus Best of Show. Not only did NWHD nail it by choosing an ample amount of categories suited to appease any type of rider, the individual categories were clearly marked and plenty of space had been allocated to showcase each of the bikes entered.
Over 80 cool, unique and interesting bikes had entered the show. The entry fee was $20 ($30 day of) and included a T-shirt & BBQ and trophies donated by Color Graphics for the winning category winners!
Several well-known vendors were on hand to support the 15th Annual Big, Bad, Bike Show. A special thank you goes out to the all of the members from South Sound HOG who served up the delicious BBQ lunch to all of the hungry folks and to O’Blarneys Beer Garden who donated the beer garden entry fees to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County, which was founded by Northwest H-D owner, Steve Boone.
The talented and extremely well dressed band, Blues Attitude, along with guest singer Becky Sue, played throughout the day, creating a nice musical vibe that was a compliment to all of the Bike Show activity.
Inside the dealership both the Motorclothes and Parts & Accessories Depts were running some killer sales! Every cash register was busy ringing up customers with oodles of great must-have Parts or clothing! The Sales staff on the showroom floor was extremely busy talking with customers, answering questions and selling bikes!
The 15th Annual Big Bad Bike Show came to a close by announcing the Bike Show winners! Congratulations to the following: Dyna – Anthony Aguilar, Touring – Joe Valasco, Softail – Steve Fine, Custom –Jay Taylor, Metric – Don Watkins, Sportster – Diane & Jeff Hobbs, Antique/Classic – Ken Jones, Trike – Rick Williams, V-Rod – Adam Jansen, Employee – Kelly Shandrow, Best of Show – Anthony Auguila & People’s Choice – Jim Brown!
