December 31, 2007, was 28 degrees and snow was piled everywhere. ABATE held it’s annual fundraiser at the Grizzly Rose. We had 450 attendees, numbers were down a bit from last year. Several brave souls rode their motorcycles in spite of the cold weather. Folks picked up the 2007 brass nuts and settled in where it was warm. Blues Planet Project kept us entertained with great music as always. We had chili, hot dogs and plenty of warm food. We had the Chili Cookoff with entries in every category and the Chili Eating Contest. Winners took home some cash! Door prizes were given away and a 50/50 drawing held with the winner taking home $323. We had several new members join. Thank you to the vendors who donated door prizes. A big thank you to all the volunteers. It takes about 50 folks volunteering to pull this event off. If you missed it, we hope to see you this December 2008, so mark your calendars!!
