You could not ask for a better day; lots of sunshine for this fan-favored local rider event. It was spectacular, which drove the turnout of bikes, riders, gawkers and dogs to near record numbers. Bikes began rolling in as early as 9 AM, and by 11 AM when I arrived, the joint was really jumping. The live music line-up was the best in years, and kept the crowd rocking’ all day long. The BBB Ladies were extra cute, extra sexy, and posed for endless pictures with riders and their bikes while the nostalgic Triple XXX served up killer food. Have you guys checked out their mile-high shakes and ice cream sodas? If not, you should plan a visit on a less crowded day. Take the time to look around inside their 50’s memorabilia-filled eatery while they whip up one of their many specialties. Owner, Jose’ Encisco and his family, know how to do the 50’s right!
Always a fan favorite, this years burger eating contest was a riot. The burgers are about the same size as a pizza and could feed 4 people but were made just for this fun eating event. You have to see these things vanish to believe it! My guess is that the contestants probably didn’t need to eat again until the following week! Really fun to watch.
The bike show this year also attracted some really great rides, and we have included some pictures of the winners getting their awards. Some really amazing bikes were entered this year and we want to give props to all those that entered. Lots of great eye candy. This year’s rally also had many more vendors and more sponsors, headlined by Eastside H-D who had a huge double booth packed with lots of great Harley goodies for sale. Eastside also supplied some really neat door prizes and trivia winners prizes including $50.00 Eastside gift cards, Harley clocks, hoodies, t’s and more.
The turnout this year not only included some gorgeous bikes but also a large contingent of Polaris Slingshot 3 wheeled “motorcycles” in various colors and styles of trim. At one point there we 11 of them parked side by side in amongst their two-wheeled brothers and sisters. Quite a sight. All in all, another fun and enjoyable Burgers, Bikers & Babes. The event’s organizers, The Thundering Angels MC want to express their “Thanks” to the Triple XXX, as well as their sponsors, vendors, and all their supporters and attendees. Look forward to seeing everyone back at the 12th Annual version next July on the first Sunday after the 4th of July Holiday.
